Though we here at sneakershoptalk have been referring to the holiday Air Jordan 11 as the “Reimagined DMP” ( which we still continue to do so), they have been officially given the moniker of “Gratitude” , meant to pay thanks to the legions of dedicated fans who have helped transform the brand into the global iconic it is today.
It aesthetic borrows heavily from 2006’s “DMP” Air Jordan 11, but with a few slight variations. Where as that sneaker featured a ballistic mesh upper, this version sports a tumbled leather upper. Metallic gold branding is seen via the Jumpman at the lateral ankle and the “23” at the rear heel. A black patent leather rand overlays the aforementioned tumbled leather, with “THANK YOU” flanking a Jumpman and text that reads “QUALITY BASKETBALL PRODUCT IN GRATITUDE BY THE GREATEST PLAYER EVER.”
Underneath resides a white midsole and a yellowed translucent rubber outsole.
The theme of thanks is carried through on the wrapping paper, which features “Thank You” in various languages, with the same words also appearing on the special packaging in which the sneakers are housed.
The “Reimagined DMP”/”Gratitude” Air Jordan 11 is scheduled to release December 9 at nike.com and select retail establishments ; they will carry a 225 USD sticker price.
